Veve's Ramblings
I recently fell heads over heals in love with Full Metal Alchemist. Or perhaps it was just my need to do everything except what I'm supposed to be doing -- that is, study for my exams. In facy, the exam is tomorrow but I find raving about my latest layout far more interesting than Calculus. (This lovely icon is from PYROgraphy, by the way.)
Needless to say, I've become attached to Roy Mustang and his circle including Maes Hughes, Dr. Knox, Alex Louis Armstrong and who can forget Black Hayate. One of the greatest qualities of the series is the examination of the characters actions. The consequences come back to haught them. It's simply great story-telling when all aspects of character interactions are addressed.
Stylized Elements
Despite reverting to a simple clean-cut design (because the simplicity makes it ideal for a fan site), I've added a great deal of extra stylizing elements. The most note-worthy thing is a secondary header (preview to the right). I thought a badass Roy was called for. To adjust the header, find wrapA in the html document and convert it to wrapB. And you've not doubt noticed the fancy border I have around the images. class="right" and class="left" will yield self-explanatory results. While all this is cool, the best part is the ability to divide this page into neat little columns and rows:
Columns are oh so pretty.
The level of CSS used on this design is a bit more advanced than what I usually do which allows for the division of the page. There is a drawback, however, if you're using columns. Due to the nature of margins of nested elements (an HTML tag within another tag), the background in the center will stretch to the end of the last nested element's margin. If you're a perfectionist like me who demands it end exactly where I tell it to, you'll need to assign class="noMargin" to the last nexted element of the longest column.

Multiple rows? Teh sex.

We can never forget the form fields:
