Veve's Ramblings
July 1st, 2004. That's when this layout was first created. I had big plans for this. It was going to be DigiCreation's 8th layout, but I abandoned it because the header was too big due to the dragon's... thing on top of his nostrols (excuse me for my dragon anatomy). Two years later, I finally found a way to resolve the unused space; since I can't very well crop it, I decided to put the area to use. Thus giving you a semi-scroll/semi-frame-like navigation/introduction strip. It is also for precisely this reason that the resolution requirement is 1024x768 as opposed to 800x600 even though it doesn't scroll horizontally.
For those of you who are more fond of my simplier designs, this should be refreshing. With my new direction in designing, I miss the good old traditional colours and structures. I'm now attributed with bold and sharp colour combinations and fancy rollover navigations. But I don't want to be attributed to anything. I want people to be able to recognize something as my work, but not associate them with trademarks. I guess I'm sort of having a designer's equivalent of a mid-life crisis here, ha! I like variety; I want to give each layout a character of its own. I don't want to have 16 variations of the same concept with a different picture and colour combination. What does this have to do with this layout specifically? Absolutely nothing! I just need to take up space.
That quote up there? It's a Chinese proverb. I couldn't find anything meaningful that deals with a dragon. On the other hand, it fits in with the Naruto world where infiltrate is tactic used all the time. You can randomly generate quotes, feature a banner, place a few link buttons to your site. (Don't put your affiliates there. It's stupid to have external links before your content.) Be creative. Enjoy!
