Veve's Ramblings

About the layout...

I didn't know that I can hate Internet Explorer more than I already did. I have a limitless capacity for how much I can despise that piece of crap. I thought I wouldn't be able to code this thing after designing it for two days. The IE background flickering bug decided to rest itself on my navigation causing the background to repeat every time you hovered the links. I tried relative positioning, javascript, adding arbituary backgrounds... none of the known fixes worked. All of a sudden now, it's fine. I don't know what I changed or even if I changed anything at all. In any case, I hope Microsoft crashes and burn.

This layout is a tribute to the latest Chapter of One Piece--Chapter 434. Words just can't explain how totally awesome this series is. So, like any self-respecting fan, I went and created a layout for it. My initial plan for it was much more ambitious. I had wanted to include every "main" character from each arc which is insane amount of people. It just couldn't be done. So instead, I wanted to grasp the feeling how big the One Piece universe really is. Hence, Luffy's outreached hands "exiting" the land; his standing on part of East Blue's map; the band on top is symbolic of the Grand Land; and the scattered "islands" on the water--the bigger the resolution, the more you can see.

I couldn't include all the characters that I wanted, but that didn't stop me from involving my favourite characters XD Ace is down there at the footer. There 3 scar wound up in the banner is reminiscent of Shanks. Shanks again to the side. And in the background we have Smoker, Aokiji, Olvia (Robin's mom), Mihawk and Merry.

For this layout, I demand a link back. In other words, this layout is a linkware simply because it's special for me in more than one way.

On a last note, this layout is relatively graphic-heavy even after resizing (it was originally 900 pixels in width) and maximum optimization. Use with caution. I would actually use this as a secondary layout--a skin.
